Representation is important across all roles and industries - tell the story of how Starbucks is using technology and advocacy to create welcoming experiences for people in the deaf community.
We know that a lot of content is made that pays lip service to topics around accessibility and inclusion. For this story we knew we needed an inside voice - so deaf advocate and director Storm Smith was the perfect addition to our team.
Storm’s personal experience behind the camera allowed her to connect with Sami, a deaf advocate who hadn’t spent much time in front of a camera before we showed up at her front door in Seattle. Storm knew just the right questions to ask, and brought out a comfortable, confident, and outspoken voice in Sami, who radiates in the final piece.
